DEPCO Drilling is an independent drilling company providing services to the Mining Industry (predominately in the Bowen Basin Coal Reserves), Government, and private agricultural clients. DEPCO currently has twenty seven drilling rigs with support vehicles.
As a result of our rapidly growing business we require a Workplace Health & Safety Officer with a high degree of flexibility in approaches to addressing challenges and problems, innovations and improvements.
The Workplace Health & Safety Officer will be required to assist the Health and Safety Training Manager in the safety of operations and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. To review and conduct personnel safety training, perform safety and workplace inspections, assess risks and investigate incidents.
The successful applicant must possess the following:
- Certificate IV In Workplace Training and Assessing
- Current C Class Licence
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety
- Accredited in conducting Drug & Alcohol testing, preferable
- Good communication skills, both verbally and written
- The ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised
- Computer literate with Microsoft packages
